Come to Moscow's version of New York’s Coney Island. During the winter months, ice skaters gather, while the summer brings vendors out to sell food after you delight yourself on roller coasters and water slides.

Easily the best known of Moscow's many parks, Gorky Park is packed with a number of theme-park rides, cafes, places to stroll, and a quaint-looking pond, all straddled alongside the Moskva river. Gorky Park is a very popular place for Muscovites of all ages. In winter it's a popular place to ice skate, and it hosts an ice sculpture competition. Founded in 1928 as the first Park of Culture and Rest, covering the grounds of the Golitsy Hospital by Kazakov and the Neskuchniy Palace, as well as an exhibition zone near the Krymskiy Val. (120 hectares)
In winter, Gorky Park is a good place to go ice skating. In summer, it hosts an amusement park.

The second such park was Sokolniki Park, laid out in 1930-31.
Gorky Park is the favorite place to spend a day of for Moscovians. The tougher a Russian man is, the more pink plush animals he carries. Not all of the rides look as modern and safe, but everyone amused themselves. And that was very amusing to us, especially around the "Bierbank"
In het Gorki Park komen de Moskovieten hun vrije dag doorbrengen. Hoe stoerder de Rus, hoe meer roze knuffels je onder je arm hebt. Niet alle attracties zien er even modern of betrouwbaar uit, maar iedereen vermaakt zich er uitstekend. En daar vermaakten wij ons dan weer om, vooral in de omgeving van de "Bierbank".
