The theatrical world of the city has grown quickly and now, only 250 years later, there are around 70 theatres and a number of concert halls in the Russian capital.
Tickets for plays and concerts can be bought directly from theatre and concert hall box offices, or from kiosks called "Teatralnaya Kassa", which can be found in underpasses, inside or near the entrances to almost every central metro station.
